Melissa ist seit mehreren Jahren in der Musikszene aktiv und nimmt dort unterschiedlichste Rollen ein. Nach ihrem Studium der Politikwissenschaften und neben ihrer Arbeit in politischer Kommunikation arbeitete sie als freie Bookerin, Nightmanagerin und Veranstalterin von Konzerten und Clubevents.
Im August 2019 wurde sie für das vut e.V. Mentoring-Programm für Frauen, trans und nicht-binäre Menschen der Musikbranche ausgewählt. Im selben Jahr schuf sie mit İç İçe ihr eigenes Herzensprojekt. Seitdem arbeitet sie an dem Festival für neue anatolische Musik, ein erfolgreiches Konzept, das nun neben Berlin und Hamburg auch in München und Heidelberg stattfinden wird. 2022 wurde das Festival vom TAG DER CLUBKULTUR als eines von 40 Kollektiven und Clubs in Berlin für ihre besondere Verdienste für die Berliner Clubkultur ausgezeichnet. Darüberhinaus ist Melissa als Freelancerin im Booking (Mensch Meier, SchwuZ), in der Produktion von Veranstaltungen (Nation of Gondwana, Clubcommission) und als Musikredakteurin (Cosmo, THF Radio) tätig.
Seit August 2020 leitet sie außerdem das Projekt “Diversitygerechtes Ausgehen in Berlin”, ein Kooperationsprojekt von Eine Welt der Vielfalt e.V. und der Clubcommission mit dem sie auch strukturell bearbeiten kann was sie umtreibt: Das Nachtleben diskriminierungsärmer und die Diversität der Kulturlandschaft sichtbarer zu machen.
Melissa has been active in the music scene for several years, taking on a wide variety of roles. After studying political science and alongside her work in political communication, she worked as a freelance booker, night manager and organizer of concerts and club events.
In August 2019, she was selected for the vut e.V. mentoring program for women, trans and non-binary people in the music industry. In the same year, she created İç İçe, her own heart project. Since then, she is working on the festival for new Anatolian music, a successful concept that will now take place in Munich and Heidelberg, in addition to Berlin and Hamburg. In 2022 the festival was awarded by TAG DER CLUBKULTUR as one of 40 collectives and clubs in Berlin for their special contributions to Berlin’s club culture. In addition, Melissa freelances in booking (Mensch Meier, SchwuZ), event production (Nation of Gondwana, Clubcommission) and as music editor (Cosmo, THF Radio).
Since August 2020 she is leading the project „Diversitygerechtes Ausgehen in Berlin“, a cooperation project of Eine Welt der Vielfalt e.V. and the Clubcommission with which she structually wants to improve to: making nightlife less discriminatory and the diversity of the cultural landscape more visible.
